How to Attend My Group Sessions

Online group meeting etiquette

After the historic 2020 event, most of the group coaching and meetings have been held online.

As a matter of fact, 100% of my coaching sessions have happened online since I started this career. That might account for 3000+ different meeting sessions, whoa!

Here are a few invitations to follow while attending my (or any) group sessions —

  • Listen to create. What if the speaker speaks about shoes for an hour, and you still created what you wanted? How can you listen with so much intention?
  • Listen for insight. Even if you have already heard what the speaker is saying, listen to it like you’re listening for the first time. Embody the words.
  • Mute yourself first. Literally one of the first things to do when you join an online meeting.
  • Have a notebook and water with you. Take notes. When you write stuff done, it leaves more impression on your brain. And having regular water will help you stay hydrated and fresh.
  • Prepare in advance. Check the mic and voice. Do an internet speed test too. If you can’t find the meeting link, ask the host to share it asap.
  • Keep your camera on. Unless you’re eating, maybe. When the speaker sees your face, they can offer more energy to you, and you’d be in a better position to receive energy from them as well.
  • Keep engaging. Let the speaker know if their points are resonating with you. Be the one who raises energy in the room, not the one who’s silently half-absent.
  • Ask your questions in chat. Don’t unmute yourself to interrupt the speaker. That’s rude and wastes everybody else’s time.
  • If you need to leave, drop a message in the chat and leave. You don’t need to announce vocally to everyone.
